From Raw materials the user builds FORMULAS in the Master Formula File module, which includes all of the Raw Materials functions plus management of the Master Formula. You can build formulas with literally hundreds of ingredients, instructions, QC tests and test logic, multiple units of measure by material. A formula can become a raw material (Intermediate) up to multiple levels. The Formula File becomes the basic product definition and is managed in the Laboratory module (or the FORMULATOR add-on option) and scheduled for plant operations in the Production module. A Finished Good is the product that your customer actually purchases. Using separate Container logic that builds the container components as a bill of materials, the combination of a formula quantity filled into a container becomes a Finished Good. Finished goods can be shipped and sold by weight, volume or full container. The system also handles cased goods and similar practical packaging quantities. Once the Materials, Containers and Formulas are defined the user controls the flow of transactions in their operations using the Purchasing and Order Entry Program modules. When the Platinum Accounting programs are used integrated with BatchMaster all transactions and their financial impact are captured every time a transaction occurs.
